Cocktails for a Cause has completed our inaugural season with fundraising totals of $4,500 for Heartly House, Hospice of Frederick County’s Camp Jamie, Children of Incarcerated Parents Partnership and Frederick County 4H Therapeutic Riding Program. Without your generous support, we would not have been able to help out these non-profit organizations in such meaningful ways. We plan to thank YOU, our supporters, and celebrate our first-year success at a birthday party November 20 from 5-8 p.m. at The Greene Turtle. This event is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted to help fund our operating budget. Our current business model does not keep any funding for our organization, so all money raised this year has been passed on to our beneficiary organizations. Additionally, The Greene Turtle will donate 10 percent of the day’s profits to Cocktails, so your are invited to stop by all day on the 20th. 2013 Beneficiaries: Cocktails for a Cause has chosen five beneficiary organizations for the upcoming 2013 season. Believers’ Club (ARC of Frederick County), Second Chances Garage, Woman to Woman Mentoring Program, and Community Living have been selected for events. A full schedule will be announced in the near future, but events are tentatively planned for February, April, June and September. Additionally, Cocktails for a Cause will solicit school supplies and other items for the Children of Incarcerated Parents Partnership during our November event. New for 2013: We will be offering a Cocktails Club season pass option. Pay in January for the entire year’s events and get a discount! Stay tuned for more details… Make a tax-deductible donation before the end of the year! Donate online today! |

Announcing our next event!
Cocktails for a Cause brings you another chance to have a blast and help out a great cause!
When’s the Party?
Monday, October 1 from 5-8 p.m.
Where’s the Party?
The Cellar Door
5 E. Church St. (at the corner of Church and Market)
Frederick, MD
What You Need To Know:
Admission is only $15 and includes your first drink, but don’t wait – space is limited and this event will sell out quickly, so make sure you register in advance online by selecting Event Registration from the menu bar above.
And the best part is that all of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Frederick County 4H Therapeutic Riding Program. The mission of the organization is to provide a recreational experience and therapeutic regimen to Frederick County citizens with medically certified mental, physical and emotional disabilities, through appropriate equestrian activities.
The program began in April 1984 as a special project under the Frederick County 4H Horse and Pony Club. They provide a seven week session of riding instruction each spring and fall and their 76 students ride free of charge. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and all day Saturdays. The program always has a waiting list of applicants, but enrollment is limited by money and the availability of volunteers. The Frederick County 4H Therapeutic Riding Program is not funded through any Federal, State or County funds. They rely solely on private donations and fundraising events like this.
So raise a glass and help us raise awareness for an amazing cause.
We’ll see you on October 1!
